I'm minding my own business (emails, job posts, etc) when Alex announces he's ready to re-do his room, after scoring a new dresser and table on Freecycle. So first we drag everthing out that's in there, dust and vacuum the trim and rug and re-center it, and then we're ready to re-habitate it. We decide to flip the furniture to take advantage of the better plug on the opposite wall. We then weed through the books and ditch about half of them (off to Freecycle) and decide the light wood half shelf in my office is a better alternative (and I score a full shelf unit to further organize my stuff). Then we cannibalize the old chest of drawers that had 2 drawers broken and move the new chest in, along with the old computer set up (an old steamer trunk and storage box) to use until I can score a computer table on Freecycle. Last is the TV on my light wood printer stand (I take the old black one with a missing leg), the new side table and his small chest of drawers (awaiting something from Freecycle that comes along) and voila! we're done.
It's good to move furniture.
